The Dinosaur National Monument visitor centers serve as a hub of information and resources for visitors to the monument.
Dinosaur National Monument has two visitors one in Utah, Quarry Visitor Center, and one in Colorado, Canyon Visitor Center.
During our visit to the monument we explored the Utah side and this post is about the Quarry Visitor Center.
It is located near the entrance and provides information on the monument’s features, history, and activities.
Speak with park rangers at the information desk to get details on hiking trails and other activities available to visitors within the park.
You can obtain maps, guidebooks, and other materials from the rangers to help plan your visit.
Interactive exhibits and displays in the center teach visitors about its history, geology, fossils, plants, and animal life.
They also have a theater which plays a twelve-minute film about the park.
Be sure to snap a selfie with the Stegosaurus statue out front. A ranger told me it’s one of the most photographed spots in the monument.
The visitor center features a small gift shop where you can purchase souvenirs, books, and other items related to the park.
They even had replicas of dinosaur fossils that were very cool but a bit pricey.
During summer, shuttle buses depart from here for the Quarry Exhibit Hall which is absolutely amazing.
After exploring the Quarry Exhibit Hall I recommend taking the 1.2-mile Fossil Discovery Trail back down to the visitor center to explore the terrain of the park.
The Center is open year-round with the exception of Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Years Day.
Daily hours in Spring and Fall, are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. These hours change seasonally in Summer and Winter.
Restrooms, trashcans, and a water bottle filling station are all available here.
The Quarry Visitor Center was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 and declared a National Historic Landmark in 2001.
