We have been camping at Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky for a few years now and always cherish our time there.
For years, I’ve wanted to visit Maggie’s Jungle Golf, which is just a twenty-minute drive away. On this trip, we finally made it happen.
Family-owned and operated since 1989, this seasonal establishment features an 18-hole mini-golf course and a small live animal nature trail.
Maggie’s Jungle Golf is open daily from 10 am to 7 pm. The miniature golf course costs $6 per person. Note that it is a cash-only facility, but there is an ATM on site.
The Jungle Run, where you can see animals, costs $2 per person. For an additional dollar, you can purchase a cup of grain to feed the animals.
The Jungle Run is an approximately half-mile loop trail.
If you prefer not to walk, you can rent a golf cart for $11. The carts can accommodate 2 adults and up to 3 small children. To operate a cart, you must be at least 16 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.
The golf course is well-maintained and mostly shaded.
While there are a few challenging holes, it is relatively easy overall. The maximum number of strokes per hole is five.
Jungle animals, including zebras, elephants, and even a giraffe, await to greet visitors as they make their way around the course.
Small sculptures, decorations, and a few water features are scattered throughout the area.
After completing your round of golf, head across the parking lot to the Jungle Run.
This easy hiking trail crosses a couple of bridges and features a variety of animal species along the way.
Donkeys and goats make up the majority of the creatures you will encounter, but you’ll also see peacocks, emus, turkeys, sheep, a camel, an ostrich, and even a zorse.
Be sure to spend that extra dollar on food.
Feeding an emu or turkey was a new and fun experience for us.
After playing a round of golf and feeding the animals, stop by the snack shack for some shaved ice or a salty treat.
We love mini-golf and animal encounters, so we had a lot of fun at Maggie’s Jungle Golf, even though my husband beat me yet again.
We did notice a few animals with eye infections, which was concerning, but they otherwise seemed well cared for.
