Our Visit To Grand Teton National Park
After five nights in Yellowstone National Park, we took a short drive to Grand Teton National Park and ended up spending six nights in the park.
Grand Teton was the fourteenth national park we visited this year and it quickly became one of our favorites.
Grand Teton National Park has a total of eight different campgrounds. We split our time between Signal Mountain Campground and Gros Ventre Campground. Each campground has a dump and fill station and a dumpster for trash.
Signal Mountain Campground also had showers and a laundromat we took full advantage of.
There are six visitor centers and information stations located throughout the park and we got to visit most of them. The Craig Thomas Discovery and Visitor Center is impressive. Some of the visitor centers are open seasonally so be sure to check the official website for current hours of operation.
Restrooms, trashcans, and gift shops are all available at most visitor centers. Rangers and volunteers are available at the information desk to answer any questions you may have.
There are gas stations, shops, and small grocery stores located throughout the park. Prices are a bit high, but that is expected inside a national park.
We actually ate out many times during our visit. The pizza at Dornan’s Pizza & Pasta Company was really good, but the pizza at Café Court Pizzeria was not. The Pioneer Grill at Jackson Lake Lodge is excellent and I wish we would have gone more than once.
There are so many miles of hiking trails in Grand Teton National Park and even though we hiked a lot we didn’t hit nearly as many trails as we would have liked. Wildlife is abundant here and we saw moose and bear while hiking.
Always carry bear spray during hikes in the park.
The Jenny Lake area is extremely popular and gorgeous.
The Jenny Lake Loop Trail and Hidden Falls, String Lake Loop, the Bearpaw and Trapper Lake Trail are all hikes we thoroughly enjoyed in this area and if you have time should not be missed during your trip.
The Taggart Lake – Bradley Lake Loop and Phelps Lake Trail Loop are also incredible hikes I would recommend during your time in the park. Also don’t skip visiting Mormon Row and snapping that iconic barn pic.

This was one of our favorite national parks we visited this year and we can’t wait to go back to hike more trails and have more adventures. If you have never been this is one destination that should quickly be added to your bucket list.
