Revisiting The World’s Only Corn Palace In South Dakota
The World’s Only Corn Palace is a famous tourist attraction located in Mitchell, South Dakota. We visited in 2020 and happened to be driving past this year and stopped to check it out again.
It is known for its unique architecture and the intricate designs made from corn, native grasses, and other grains that adorn its exterior walls. These murals are changed annually to showcase different themes, such as historical events, wildlife, and regional culture.
The 2022 theme was Under the Big Top. During our visit, they were just starting to tear down and set up for the next theme (not sure why it said 2022 and not 2023).
I wrote about our first visit which you can read about here. It has more information on the palace. I just thought I make a quick post with updated pictures of the theme this year.
The World’s Only Corn Palace draws visitors from around the country and it is completely worth a visit if you happen to be in the area.
A gift shop is located across the street and free parking is nearby.
