The North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame is an institution dedicated to honoring and preserving the history and heritage of the North Dakota cowboy and ranching culture.
It was founded in 1995 and in 2005 added the Center of Western Heritage & Cultures Museum. It is located in Medora, North Dakota.
The primary purpose of the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame is to recognize and celebrate the contributions of individuals, ranches, and organizations that have played a significant role in North Dakota’s ranching and cowboy traditions.
The goal of the Center of Western Heritage & Cultures is to preserve the history of the northern plains and North Dakota’s western lifestyle. This includes the lives of North Dakota’s Native Americans, homesteaders, and ranchers.
The Cowboy Hall of Fame features exhibits, displays, and artifacts related to North Dakota’s cowboy and ranching history. Visitors can explore the history of ranching, rodeo, and the people who have made significant contributions to these fields in the state.
The Hall of Honorees is where individuals, events, and organizations are recognized for their outstanding contributions to North Dakota’s Western heritage. Honorees are selected for their achievements in categories such as ranching, rodeo, arts and entertainment, and more.
The museum features a theater, galleries, artifacts, and memorabilia devoted to the preservation of the culture and heritage of North Dakota.
There is an impressive amount of bronze statues in the collection as well.

The museum is located right outside the south entrance of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. If you are visiting the park be sure to take an hour or two to tour the museum as well.
