Pelican Creek Nature Trail is an easy 0.8-mile loop trail located in Yellowstone National Park.
It can be found on the west end of Pelican Creek Bridge approximately 1 mile east of Fishing Bridge Visitor Center.
This trail is great for families and individuals looking for a leisurely walk with some great views.
It begins in the lodgepole pines forest and then takes visitors to the shore of Yellowstone Lake before returning to the trees.
Take some time to play on the beach and maybe dip your toes in the cold water.
The trail also offers scenic views of Pelican Creek and the surrounding area, including the creek’s meadows and marshes. This hike is a great opportunity for visitors to experience a variety of habitats found within the park.
Visitors often have the opportunity to observe various species of birds, waterfowl, and potentially other wildlife such as bison, elk, and sometimes even bears. Always be aware of your surroundings and carry bear spray.
During our hike, we got to watch an American Bald Eagle hunt for fish which was cool.
