Tower Fall In Yellowstone National Park
Tower Fall is a notable waterfall located in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming and is situated in the northeastern part of the park, near the Tower-Roosevelt area.
Visitors can view Tower Fall from a designated viewpoint accessed by a short walk from the parking area of the Tower General Store (44.89156, -110.38678).
The waterfall is created by Tower Creek as it flows through a narrow canyon and drops about 132 feet (40 meters) over a series of rocky ledges.
It is framed by eroded volcanic pinnacles.
The water plunges over a rocky ledge and forms a single, powerful column of water that then cascades down further before reaching the pool below.
You can no longer hike to the bottom of the falls because of erosion, but a steep half-mile trail (about 300 feet in elevation change) will take you down to see Tower Creek flow into the Yellowstone River.
Tower Fall is a popular stop for visitors exploring the northeastern part of Yellowstone National Park. Its beauty, along with the surrounding geology and history, make it a noteworthy natural landmark within the park.
