If you’re looking for some free camping close to Zion National Park look no further than North Creek.
This camping area is located on BLM land and has a 14-day stay limit. Campsites are on a first come, first served basis and is open year-round.
This is a boondocking spot so there are no bathrooms, water, or hook-ups. There are no trashcans so whatever you pack in make sure you pack out.
Pets are allowed, but please be sure to pick up after them.
There is zero Verizon signal. AT&T did work great for us though.
There were homemade fire rings for visitors to have campfires. Always be sure to check on any fire restrictions in the area before starting a fire.
Always make sure every spark is out before going to bed or leaving camp.
There are a variety of sites to choose from here and any size rig can fit.
Shadier spots are located right on the small creek, but there are also spots open to the sun if you’re running solar.
This place gets very crowded and most spots are right on top of each other, especially on the creek. We were lucky to get a spot a little farther away from everyone.
You won’t get a lot of privacy, but it was pretty quiet the whole time we were there.
Highly recommend taking the second entrance into the area. The first entrance is severely rutted out. The camping area isn’t that large, but it can accommodate a number of vehicles.
If this spot is full there is a BMX track area parking lot on the way that people also use to boondock. Other BLM land can also be found nearby.
From this boondocking spot, you are 25 minutes away from the Zion National Park Visitor Center.
The Pa’rus Trail , Riverside Walk Trail, and Emerald Pools Trail were some highlights of our visit. Also, be sure to check out the Human History Museum.
The Narrows was closed during our visit due to high water which was disappointing so another trip in the future is in order.

The little town of Springdale is right before the entrance to the park and offers shopping, dining, and accommodations for travelers. The towns of La Verkin and Hurricane can be reached in less than twenty minutes and offer more services such as grocery stores and laundromats.
We really enjoyed our stay here and felt safe the entire time. The little creek is cute and there are some nice views. It’s conveniently located near the national park and we would stay here again on our next visit.
Always follow the Leave No Trace Seven Principles and try to leave your camp nicer than you found it. Please research campgrounds before visiting. Rules and regulations may have changed since we stayed there.
