Capitol Reef National Park’s visitor center serves as a hub of information and resources for visitors.
It is located near the beginning of the park’s scenic drive and provides visitors with information on the park’s features, history, and activities.
Speak with park rangers and volunteers at the information desk to get details on hiking trails, camping options, ranger-led programs, and other activities available to visitors within the park.
Rangers can also stamp your passport and sign the little ones up for the Junior Ranger program.
You can obtain maps, guidebooks, and other materials to help plan your visit to the park here as well.
The visitor center features a small gift shop where you can purchase souvenirs, books, and other items related to the park.
Additionally, there is a theater where you can watch the short film Watermark, an 18-minute introduction to Capitol Reef National Park.
Be sure to check out the small museum full of exhibits on the park’s human history, diverse plant and animal life, and the geology of the Waterpocket Fold.
The visitor center is open daily, except for Christmas. Hours may vary seasonally, so be sure to check the park’s website for current hours of operation.
Restrooms, trashcans, and a water bottle filling station are all available here.
The parking lot is a bit small and will only fit a few larger rigs at a time.
