Standing beside the Massac County Circuit Clerk building in Metropolis, Illinois stands the World’s Largest Superman Statue!
The 15 feet tall bronze statue was erected on June 5, 1993, to honor the town’s fifteenth annual Superman Celebration. It weighs approximately 3 tons and replaced the previous 7-foot-tall fiberglass Superman statue.
It is surrounded by engraved bricks purchased by individuals to fund the building of the statue. They’ve set up a little place for people to stand to get the perfect picture of the statue for all your social media outlets.
