Hiking The Woodland Walk Trail At Land Between The Lakes
The Woodland Walk Trail is a 1-mile loop trail located in Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky.
This easy trail is pet friendly and only has around 90 feet of elevation gain. The trailhead starts at the Woodlands Nature Station parking lot.
You can start the trail on either side of the Nature Station. We started on the right if you’re facing the building. The trail is marked by white paw prints and has multiple signs.
The trail has you traveling through the forest and along the shoreline of Honker Lake. There are only two real viewpoints of the lake though.
One is by the canoe rental, which doesn’t look like it’s been running for a while. You can walk out on a sketchy-looking dock and see the lake that the lily pads have taken over.
It’s pretty though.
There really isn’t much to this hike. It’s basically just a walk in the woods with a view of the lake at one point.
You do walk by the Center Furnace Cemetery though, Robert C. Forsythe is it’s only resident.
It’s a short and easy hike for the family if you want to spend some time outside. There’s a pretty good climb at the end to reach the parking lot so be prepared for that.
Honker Trail does connect with this hike and is 4.5 miles long if you’re up for a little more adventure.
