Hiking The Long Creek Trail At Land Between The Lakes
The Long Creek Trail is a 0.3 mile out and back trail located in Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky.
This easy trail is pet friendly and has practically no elevation gain. The trailhead (36.89977, -88.03739) can be found near the Woodlands Nature Station.
From the parking lot you’ll travel through a bottomland hardwood forest until you reach a loop taking you by the creek (I’m assuming Long Creek) then you’ll return to your car.
The path is paved, but it’s not in the best shape. In fact, this whole trail is overgrown and it doesn’t look like it’s been maintained in quite a while.
We saw some numbered signs along the path, but even those were pretty faded. It may have been an interpretive trail at one point, but no longer.
Truthfully it looks like this trail has just been forgotten and it really wasn’t worth the even short amount of time we took to hike it.
There’s nothing to see and it’s one I would skip during your visit.
Across the street are the remains of the old Center Furnace though and it’s cool to check out. The Center Furnace Trail is right around the corner and that is worth your time.
