Goodbye Frankenstein And Hello Cruella
Say hello to Cruella, our brand new travel trailer.
We have hard sides y’all!
She is a 2003 Thor Aerolite A19FB. Everything works in her and she’s been freshly painted and has new floors. We are taking a break from traveling until probably May next year so we can save up money again and do some things to Cruella to make her boondock ready.
We’ve got a lot of electrical and solar work to do on her which is exciting though. Cruella is going to have triple the power we had on Frankenstein. More power means I can finally run an air fryer and Ninja blender, so I already bought both.
We will also be adding a composting toilet, because I never want to have to deal with dumping a black tank.
I have so many ideas for decorating and storage and I can’t wait to get started. I think after the first couple of Amazon orders Jamey is gonna end up putting me on a much stricter budget!
I literally have no idea what I’m gonna do with all the storage I have now. I’m pretty sure there’s more storage in the bathroom than I had in all of Frankenstein.
Now Frankenstein has treated us well over the last two years. He brought us to some incredible places and traveled with us on many amazing adventures. He’s also left us stranded in the middle of nowhere once or twice, but hey no one’s perfect!
Having a camper with hard sides is really going to open up travel possibilities for us. Travel days can be a lot more flexible now, which is huge plus in our book. If we find a museum or park on the way to our new camping destination we can stop now and check it out.
If we don’t make it to our new camping spot in time there’s always the option of spending the evening at Walmart or Cracker Barrel now. Setting up a popup camper for the night in the parking lots of these establishments is something you just don’t do.
I’m so excited about our new camper and can’t wait to get her all decked out. I have so many ideas and I know I’ll end up rearrange everything in her at least a dozen times and I can’t wait. Frankenstein will always hold a special place in my heart, but it’s time to move on.
I’m already itching to get back on the road though.
It’s gonna be a long 6 months for sure.
