Say Hello To Kevin The Traveling Pig
We are taking a break from traveling for the next four months to purchase a travel trailer, do the necessary upgrades, save up money again and visit with family for the holidays.
This means I will finally be able to catch up on the blog and man do I have a lot to do.
So over the next few months get ready for a bunch of posts from our travels. Some are over a year old so I’m happy I will finally have time to catch up.
I don’t know how I let this one slip through the cracks, because this is usually the kind of thing I would post about immediately.
Back in May, we were in Utah visiting Moab, Arches National Park, and Canyonlands National Park when I happened to notice someone I followed on Instagram was also in the area.
I was nervous, but I contacted them to see if they would like to meet up.
I was excited when they said yes and it turned out they were boondocking just a couple of roads away from where we were. After a couple of messages back and forth we finally came up with a time.
I would like everyone to meet Kevin!
Kevin has been traveling the country full-time with his mother, Kitty, for four years now. He also travels with two feline sisters named Zoe and Lora. He is an American Mini Pig whose dad was a Eurasian and whose mother was a Juliana.
Kevin has been to multiple states and national parks. He has enjoyed grazing in meadows and fields across the country and dipping his toes in more lakes, rivers, and streams than he can count.
When Kitty pulled up with her crew she gave us some rules on how to act around Kevin.
We listened carefully and agreed to all the rules. I was super excited to finally meet the little (not so little) piggie whose adventures I had been following on Instagram for almost a year.
Kevin climbed out of the vehicle, down his ramp and we officially got to say hello.
I had apples waiting for him and after some instruction from Kitty, got to feed him these yummy treats. We all sat around for over an hour just talking about Kevin, traveling, and life in general while Kevin explored the area or relaxed at our feet.
I was able to give him plenty of little scratches and I’ve got to say he has the cutest little snout ever! It was so awesome to meet Kevin and his family in person and their story is amazing.
You can follow Kevin on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. Kitty is just starting up the YouTube channel again so hopefully many more videos of Kevin will be coming out soon for our viewing pleasure.
