Sheep Rock and The Three Gossips In Arches National Park
You just have to take one look at Sheep Rock to figure out how it got it’s name and I think it’s just adorable.
You can view Sheep Rock from the parking lot of Courthouse Towers Viewpoint right off the scenic drive in Arches National Park. It is the third tallest tower in the Park after Tower Of Babel and The Organ. The rock is formed from Entrada sandstone and is around 440 feet tall. It is nestled between the Three Gossips and the Tower of Babel.
There are two published routes on the formation for rock climbing. These routes climb opposite sides of the tower and both are aid lines. If you plan on rock climbing within the park make sure you research all rules and regulations before beginning.
Three Gossips is another well known rock formation inside the park. The Entrada sandstone formation got it’s name from it’s resemblance to the three heads “gossiping” to each other. It stands around 350 feet at its tallest wall.
I believe you may be able to rock climb these girls as well, but can’t confirm. I’m sure a stop at the ranger’s station will give you the information you need.
