Alvin, Simon, Theodore and Jamey?

We were on our way to Lead, South Dakota  when we passed a few animated characters we just had to stop and take our picture with.

In front of Chubby Chipmunk Hand-Dipped Chocolates are large statues of Alvin, Simon and Theodore from the cartoon franchise Alvin and the Chipmunks.

I also got my pic taken with a statue of their adorable mascot named Ms. Chubby. They also had a few other old Alvin memorabilia pieces outside.

Now these guys are supposed to be famous for their hand-dipped truffles that come in an amazing selection of flavors. We were there before they opened though so we didn’t get to check them out.

We see truffles a lot in little local shops on our travels and they always look amazing, but we have never bought any.

They are always so expensive and we are cheap!

We prefer to spend our money on experiences, not food so we never splurge on them.

We will see them and say this time we are gonna get them and then we change our mind. I always talk myself out of it, because I can’t seem to justify spending $3 on something we only get a bite of each.

I know other peeps who are foodies and prefer to spend their money trying out new restaurants than visiting a museum. We are the opposite.

Maybe one day I’ll buy a truffle, Jamey does have a birthday coming up!
