My First Cabela’s and a Massive Bison Statue

I’m traveling around the country living full-time in a pop-up camper so obviously I love the outdoors and Cabela’s is like an outdoor enthusiast mecca!

We pass them all the time, but for one reason or another were never able to stop. While running errands on our last day in Rapid City we just happened to pass one and finally had the time to stop in and I was not disappointed.

A big reason I’ve always wanted to visit one is because I’ve heard about all the taxidermy and aquariums they have on display and was excited to see for myself.

I’ve seen pictures of some of the bigger stores and they are impressive and the one in Rapid City had an amazing large display titled “North American Big Game”. The polar bear and musk oxen were my favorite.

We only walked out with a magnet and an accessory for our Mr. Buddy heater, but I could of spent a fortune in the camping and fishing sections. Jamey is lucky we live in such a small space. Outside they also have a massive Bison Statue that makes the perfect photo op.

Now I just need to find me one of those fancy Bass Pro Shops, because I heard they were pretty cool too.
