Meet the Bride of Frankenstein
Say hello to Frankenstein the pop up campers brand new tow vehicle we appropriately named Bride of Frankenstein. She is a 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 with the Z71 Off-Road package. I don’t know what any of that means, but she sure is pretty!
After spending $1200 on the Envoy right before we left Louisiana 3 weeks ago it broke again! At this point in less than 2 years we have put more money into the car than we spent on it. It has failed us many times on our adventure so far this year. We purchased ourselves a real lemon and were over it.
Jamey headed to the town of Mount Ida, Arkansas 30 minutes away from our campsite on Lake Ouachita and checked out the local car dealership. His first choice literally sold 15 minutes before he got there. A week later he tried again and found our bride. When we eventual upgrade to a travel trailer in a couple years this truck will be able to tow that as well.
So tomorrow we make the long trip back to Ohio to get tags and registration. We will spend a few weeks camped out in my parents front yard doing some renovations and upgrades to Frankenstein. We will also will be checking over the bride and making sure she is ready for the many miles of adventure we have planned for her.
