Fly Away Little Birdie
So has anyone ever had a bird fly into their camper before?
Jamey and I were just lounging around in the hammocks trying to cool off in the breeze during the hottest part of the day when I decided I was thirsty. We most generally leave the door to Frankenstein open during the day because that’s just what we do. Occasionally a wasp, bee or fly will come in, but it’s no big deal. You shoo them out or whack them with the flyswatter and that’s that.
I’m walking up to the door and see something fly across the camper. I poke my head in and a little birdie is sitting on the TV. I yell for Jamey to come help, because some freakin’ bird has decided our little pop-up was a nice place for an afternoon roost. After a couple of minutes of us just yelling, waving our arms and chasing it from one end of the camper to the other it finally flew out the window.
His parting gift to us…he took a dump like 4 times during his trespassing excursion all on my bedding and pillows. Yep I was really happy about that. Oh the adventures you have living on the road.
I know it’s not the best pic (yes I took the time to take pics before pushing him out the door) but if you know what kind of bird he/she is sound off in the comments. I’m guessing some kind of sparrow.
EDIT: Not 20 minutes after I finished writing this post another crazy bird came under the side of the screen room and flew around in a panic for a couple minutes until I opened the door and it flew out. The birds at this camp are crazy!
EDIT 2: Two hours after this post Jamey yells from the camper, “You got another feathered friend in here”. What is going on today? He just walked out the camper and the bird followed lol.
