So It’s Been Three Months
That’s right boys and girl it’s officially been three months of traveling the country and living full time in Frankenstein the pop up camper. Well we didn’t really travel this month.
Unless you have been living in a cave (and truthfully you probably still had cell service in this day and age) there is a worldwide pandemic in progress. We have been stuck in the woods of Louisiana in self quarantine. Besides 2 trips to Walmart for supplies we have managed to only talk to maybe a dozen peeps all month. We have become pros at social distancing.
Everything we planned when we hooked up and started this adventure in January has obviously changed because of the worldwide medical situation. We were in a campground here for almost 3 weeks and are now just disperse camping in the national forest. It is our first true disperse camping adventure so that’s fun. There was a lot of traveling down old forest roads to find the perfect spot.
We are lucky to have found a safe spot to hunker down during these trying times. My heart goes out to all the full time travelers out there looking for their own spot. We are blessed to have solar for power and a portable toilet so we can be completely self sufficient and able to boondock.
How many of you are driveway and backyard camping because you can’t go camping?
Post pics in the comments of your “at home” set-ups.
You all stay safe and wash your hands. (In desperate need of hand sanitizer down to last bottle. We have not seen the elusive beast in over 3 weeks. I think they ran away with all the toilet paper!)
Im excited to follow along on your adventure . We are planning to go full time in our Pop Up in October with our 4 children. Likely we will upgrade at some point, but our lease ends in October and we already own the PUP! I’m curious, when you boondock for so long, how do you dump your porta potty? Dig a hole? 😁
Four kids….that will be an adventure. We usually dump it in a toilet at the next campsite or a campground near by.
