Foscue Creek Park is a 54 site campground located on the forested lake shore of Demopolis Lake, which is the largest lake on the Black Warrior-Tombigbee Waterway.
Each campsite features level concrete pads, picnic tables, lantern holders and campfire rings with a grill. Each site also has water, 50 amp electric and sewer.
The campground has laundry facilities, 2 bathhouses, 2 playgrounds, 4 pavilions, hiking trails with a boat ramp and dock. For the camping rules and prices and to make reservations visit the official website.
We did not camp here only stopped by for the day use area of the campground.
The day-use area in the park includes a large playground, the Foscue Creek Nature Trail and access to the boat ramp. There are also plenty of places to fish right off the bank if you would like.
We walked the trail with our dog, Dexter. Pets are allowed as long as they are leased and remember to clean up after them.
Foscue Creek was very pretty and the hiking trail was along the scenic shoreline of the Tombigbee River.
There were benches and pavilions to sit down to relax and enjoy the scenery and wildlife. We saw a great egret hunting fish right by the bank. There are trail markers for tree identification along the hike so its educational for the whole family.
It’s an excellent location for bird watching as well.
Always follow the Leave No Trace Seven Principles and try to leave your camp nicer than you found it. Please research campgrounds before visiting. Rules and regulations may have changed since we stayed there.
